This is the branch of physiotherapy concerned with prevention and management of cardiac and pulmonary disease as well as treating the individuals who live with it. Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy is an area of physiotherapy that specializes in the prevention, rehabilitation, and compensation of clients with diseases and injuries in the heart and lungs. This course promotes the development of skills, knowledge and attributes of a reflective, evidence-based practitioner who might seek to specialize in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.
The Course contents include Basic medical science, biomechanics and kinesiology, exercise physiology, exercise therapy, Fundamentals of physiotherapy in cardio-respiratory conditions, Physiotherapy in assessment and management of cardiorespiratory conditions, Cardio-pulmonary Rehabilitation and a mandatory dissertation based on project work.
